Wagamama : first restaurant brand in the UK to provide an ordering experience via the platform.

The free application allows users to place an order for take-out directly from the handset.

The app also enables users to locate their nearest branch of Wagamama and browse the menu to place their order.

The order is then sent straight to the kitchen in a similar way to the wireless hand-held devices used by Wagamama restaurant staff. Users can state a preferred collection time and pay for the order via the app.

Steve Hill, chief executive of Wagamama, said: “At Wagamama we have always embraced the newest technology, so we’re proud to be first-to-market in the restaurant sector with our new iphone app, bringing the Wagamama experience to the iphone offers more flexible ordering than ever before, coupled with the speed and quality of service that our customers know and love.”

In November Pizza Hut teamed up with Vodafone to launch a delivery application for the mobile network’s 360 H1 phone. It allows customers to order pizza and pay for it on their monthly phone bill.
